Northbound I-25 closed near Stem Beach after crash involving downed power lines, interstate later reopened

Pueblo, CO – Northbound Interstate 25 near Stem Beach was temporarily closed following a single-vehicle crash that resulted in downed power lines across the roadway.

According to the Pueblo Police Department, the closure occurred near mile marker 91 while crews responded to the scene. Officials said power lines were brought down as a result of the incident, prompting an immediate shutdown of the interstate.

Emergency crews, including Black Hills Energy and the Colorado Department of Transportation, responded to secure the area and address the hazard.

Authorities advised motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes while crews worked to clear the scene and restore safe travel conditions.

No injuries were reported at the time of the incident.

Officials later confirmed that the interstate was fully reopened at approximately 10:15 a.m.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
