Two Teens Shot Outside Aurora Skating Rink in Early Evening Incident

Aurora, Colo. – Two teenagers were shot outside a popular skating rink on Saturday evening in what authorities are describing as a “shootout.” The shooting occurred just before 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Skate City, located at 15100 East Girard Avenue.

According to Aurora police, multiple shell casings from various firearms were found scattered across the lot, indicating the use of multiple guns during the incident. A teen boy, who sustained serious injuries, was driven to the hospital in a private vehicle. Meanwhile, a 14-year-old girl was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

As of Sunday morning, neither the boy’s identity nor his condition had been released, but CBS Denver reported that the girl’s injuries were not considered life-threatening. The age of the boy has also not been disclosed.

Police have not provided many details about the incident, including what led to the shooting. However, authorities have indicated that the victims and suspects may have known each other.
