Suspect Arrested After Shots Fired Incident and Standoff in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A shots-fired incident near the 300 block of N. Circle Drive led to the arrest of a man after a lengthy standoff on Sunday morning. Officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to the call at approximately 10:59 a.m. after reports of gunfire in the area.

Upon arriving, authorities confirmed that a firearm had been discharged, and the suspect had fled the scene in a red Dodge SUV. The CSPD launched an investigation and, by 12:16 p.m., located the vehicle, which was occupied by two individuals.

One of the passengers was safely removed from the SUV, but the other, later identified as the suspected shooter, refused to comply with police orders to exit the vehicle. The man, who was believed to be involved in the shots-fired incident, remained inside the SUV as officers worked to secure the situation.

A standoff ensued, and it wasn’t until around 2:10 p.m. that law enforcement officials successfully arrested the suspect. The man faces weapons-related charges in connection with the incident. During the investigation, authorities recovered a stolen firearm from the suspect’s vehicle.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital, though police reported no injuries resulting from the altercation. CSPD officials confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing, and further information will be released as it becomes available.

Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact local authorities.
