Grass Fire Near Fountain Blvd and Shasta Dr Contained by CSFD

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) responded to a grass fire Saturday afternoon near the intersection of E Fountain Blvd and Shasta Dr. The fire, which burned approximately half an acre of land, has since been contained. However, crews remain on the scene to monitor and control several “hot spots” within the area.

While the fire itself is no longer spreading, CSFD officials are continuing to manage the situation to ensure full extinguishment. The department has confirmed that Eastbound Fountain Blvd has been reduced to a single lane in the vicinity, causing potential traffic delays for commuters.

In a statement, CSFD noted that the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The department is working to determine the exact circumstances that led to the blaze.

As of now, no injuries have been reported, and officials are advising residents and motorists to remain cautious as they continue their efforts. The fire’s containment is seen as a relief, but the situation remains under close watch as CSFD ensures all hot spots are properly addressed.

Residents in the area are encouraged to stay updated on road conditions and avoid unnecessary travel near the affected zone.
