Pueblo, CO – On October 18, 2025, at approximately 3:27 a.m., Pueblo Police officers responded to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Pueblo Boulevard and Goodnight Avenue, where the vehicle had come to rest on its side.
Officers encountered a male suspect showing signs of intoxication and placed him under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Mario Deherrera, declined medical attention at the scene but was transported to a local hospital for clearance.
During transport and at the hospital, Deherrera became increasingly volatile, refusing to exit the vehicle, directing vulgarities at officers and medical staff, and acting aggressively. After medical clearance, he continued to resist arrest, spitting and kicking at officers. Additional officers were required to assist in securing him.
Deherrera was ultimately transported to Pueblo County Jail and faces charges of DUI-Liquor, Assault on a Peace Officer, Careless Driving, and Failure to Present Evidence of Insurance.
