PUEBLO, Colo. — A 46-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday morning at the Belmont Manor Apartments near the intersection of North Hudson Avenue and Bonforte Boulevard, according to the Pueblo Police Department.
The shooting occurred just after 7 a.m., when officers responded to reports of gunfire at the complex. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim with a gunshot wound. He was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released and will be provided by the Pueblo County Coroner’s Office once family notifications have been made.
Police say they have spoken to several witnesses as well as the suspected shooter, whose identity has not been disclosed. No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation continues.
This incident marks the fifth homicide reported in Pueblo so far this year, reflecting ongoing concerns about violent crime in the area.
Authorities are urging anyone with additional information about the shooting to come forward to assist with the investigation.
