Pueblo, CO – As Earth Day 2025 approaches, Southern Colorado is gearing up for a weekend filled with activities that celebrate the environment, engage the community, and encourage sustainability. From cultural presentations to hands-on volunteer opportunities, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The City of Colorado Springs has curated a comprehensive list of Earth Day events, offering residents and visitors a chance to participate in meaningful activities. These events highlight the importance of environmental stewardship and sustainability while fostering a sense of community.
Cultural Presentations and Sustainability Talks
This year, Earth Day celebrations will include traditional cultural presentations from local Native American groups. These presentations will provide a unique opportunity for attendees to learn about the deep connection between indigenous communities and the environment, as well as the sustainable practices passed down through generations.
In addition to the cultural events, Sustainable Pueblo will host an engaging discussion on sustainability. This talk aims to inspire attendees to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives, from reducing waste to conserving water and energy.
4th Annual Three Days Three Parks
One of the standout events this Earth Day is the 4th Annual Three Days Three Parks, a volunteer-driven initiative designed to maintain and restore local outdoor spaces. Over three days, volunteers will work together to remove invasive plants, restore hiking trails, pick up litter, and reseed areas in several parks across Colorado Springs. The event encourages community members to give back to the environment by improving local green spaces for all to enjoy.
The scheduled activities are as follows:
-
Blodgett Open Space: Friday, April 25, from 8:00 a.m. to noon
-
Palmer Park: Saturday, April 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
-
Ute Valley Park: Sunday, April 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Volunteers are welcome to participate in one day or all three days, depending on their availability. The event offers a hands-on opportunity to make a tangible difference in preserving the natural beauty of Southern Colorado’s parks.
A Community-Driven Celebration
Throughout the weekend, Colorado Springs will also host a variety of educational workshops, park clean-up efforts, and trivia contests designed to engage attendees of all ages. These events aim to foster a greater understanding of environmental issues while offering fun, interactive experiences for the whole family.
For those interested in joining the celebrations, the City of Colorado Springs has compiled a detailed list of Earth Day events available on its official website. Registration for volunteer opportunities, including the Three Days Three Parks initiative, is now open.
