Colorado Springs Woman Arrested in Connection with Stolen Tires and Rims Worth $10,000

Colorado Springs, CO – A woman was arrested in Colorado Springs after authorities discovered she was involved in the theft of $10,000 worth of tires and rims, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

The incident unfolded on Friday when CSPD responded to a report of stolen tires and rims from an SUV at Phil Long Ford, located on Briargate Boulevard. The theft, which took place the previous day, was reported by the victim, who later discovered the stolen items listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

The investigation led police to 26-year-old Aleeyah Niknami, who was taken into custody on Saturday. Along with the stolen tires, Niknami was found in possession of illegal substances, including fentanyl and methamphetamine. Authorities also uncovered additional stolen property, including a vehicle stolen from Aurora, another vehicle taken from Colorado Springs, and two trailers stolen from Fountain.

While Niknami is accused of selling the stolen tires to an unknown buyer in the area, the rims and tires have not yet been recovered. CSPD officials believe the buyer may be unaware they purchased stolen goods and is considered a victim in the case.

Detectives are working to locate and return the stolen property to its rightful owner. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Colorado Springs Police Department at (719) 444-7000.

This case highlights the ongoing problem of stolen property being resold through online platforms, and the importance of being vigilant when making transactions.
