Colorado Springs Police Officer Pleads Not Guilty to Sexual Assault and Intimidation Charges

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A Colorado Springs Police officer, Sergeant Glenn Thomas, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to charges of intimidation and sexual assault. Thomas, who has been with the police department since 1993, was arrested in November after an investigation revealed allegations of inappropriate sexual contact with a minor in Woodland Park in October.

During the course of the investigation, police also uncovered additional accusations that Thomas attempted to intimidate the victim involved in the case. This led to further charges against him, including intimidation of a victim and violation of a protection order. Thomas is currently out on bond and is expected to return to court for a hearing in May. Should the case proceed as planned, a trial is set to begin in June.

As of now, Thomas remains employed by the Colorado Springs Police Department. However, he has been placed on modified duty and leave while the legal process unfolds. According to the department, Thomas had been assigned to the DUI unit at the time of his arrest.

This case has raised concerns within the community, given the serious nature of the charges and Thomas’s long tenure with the department. The outcome of his upcoming court hearings and trial will be closely watched, as it could have significant implications for both Thomas’s career and the public’s trust in local law enforcement.

Authorities have not provided further details about the investigation or any potential impact on the department. However, the case remains under close scrutiny as it moves through the judicial process.
