Semi Truck Rollover Shuts Down MLK Bypass Exit in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A semi-truck rollover disrupted traffic on Tuesday morning, forcing the closure of the exit onto the Martin Luther King (MLK) Bypass off southbound I-25.

At approximately 11:55 a.m., Colorado Springs police responded to a report of a semi truck that had rolled over on the ramp leading to the MLK Highway 24 bypass. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, and the ramp was shut down to allow for cleanup and investigation.

By 1:15 p.m., authorities confirmed that the ramp would remain closed for several more hours, causing significant traffic delays in the area. The driver of the semi truck sustained minor injuries in the crash, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD). While the exact cause of the rollover is still under investigation, officials noted that speed appeared to be a contributing factor.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes as crews work to clear the wreckage and reopen the ramp. The Colorado Springs Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
