A felony suspect remains on the run following a police pursuit early Sunday morning in Colorado Springs. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers were initially called to Circle Drive and Fountain Boulevard just after midnight on a domestic violence report. However, by the time officers arrived at the scene, the suspect had already fled.
While officers were investigating the domestic violence incident, the suspect returned to the area. When authorities attempted to make a traffic stop, the suspect fled in his vehicle, sparking a brief chase.
“Officers attempted to pull the suspect over, but he continued to flee,” a CSPD lieutenant explained. “The pursuit lasted several minutes, but due to safety concerns, the decision was made to discontinue the chase.”
At that point, the officers ceased the pursuit, prioritizing public safety over continuing the chase. Despite efforts to locate the suspect, he remains at large as of Sunday afternoon.
The suspect, who has not yet been publicly identified, is facing new felony domestic violence charges. In addition, law enforcement officials revealed that he was already wanted on several other felony warrants prior to this incident. An arrest warrant has been issued, and authorities are continuing their search for the individual.
As of now, no further updates have been provided, but police are urging anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward.
