Woman Arrested After Missing 9-Year-Old Girl Found Safe in Woodland Park

WOODLAND PARK, Colo. – A woman has been arrested following the discovery of a missing 9-year-old girl in Woodland Park early Wednesday morning. Audrey Martinez was reported missing by her mother just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, sparking an urgent search by local authorities.

Officers initially made contact with 38-year-old Christina Ann Guerrero, who was reportedly seen interacting with neighbors. Despite claiming that Martinez was not inside her apartment, Guerrero allowed police to search the premises. However, the child was not located during the first search, and law enforcement continued their investigation.

After speaking with the girl’s mother once again, police initiated a second round of door-to-door searches in the area. At around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) agents, along with local officers, re-entered Guerrero’s apartment. This time, they found Martinez unharmed, hidden in a bedroom closet.

The young girl was safely returned to her family shortly after being discovered. Guerrero was taken into custody and charged with harboring a child and influencing public officials. She is currently being processed at the Teller County Jail.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case, and additional details have not yet been released. The Woodland Park Police Department expressed relief that the child was found safe, and officials thanked the community for their assistance during the search.
