Two Minors Arrested in Connection to Stolen Vehicles, Handgun Recovery in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs, Colo. — Two minors were arrested Thursday in connection with multiple motor vehicle thefts, following a search warrant executed by the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) in the 4100 block of Goldenrod Drive, near the intersection of Austin Bluffs Parkway and North Academy Boulevard.

According to CSPD, officers had information that one of the minors, previously arrested for burglary and motor vehicle theft, was in possession of another stolen vehicle. During the investigation, police discovered that both minors were also in possession of a handgun.

The two juveniles, whose names have not been released due to their ages, were taken into custody on charges related to motor vehicle theft. A man, unrelated to the minors’ case, was also arrested on an outstanding warrant during the operation.

Authorities recovered the handgun and two stolen vehicles as part of the investigation.

One of the minors is currently awaiting adjudication on several pending cases involving motor vehicle thefts and burglaries of vape stores committed last year. The juvenile has been arrested multiple times over the past several months, with prior arrests recorded on November 19, 2024, December 10, 2024, February 5, 2025, and April 2, 2025. In each instance, the minor was released, often on personal recognizance bonds to family members.

CSPD noted that a local non-profit organization has been involved in advocating for the minor and overseeing their release and supervision following each arrest.

The investigation remains ongoing.
