Three Arrested Following Shooting at Hampton Village Apartments in El Paso County

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. — Authorities have arrested three individuals in connection with a shooting that took place on the evening of May 11 at the Hampton Village Apartments in El Paso County.

Deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) were dispatched to the apartment complex around 8 p.m. following multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire. Upon arrival, deputies located a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition has not been publicly disclosed.

According to witness statements, the incident began with an argument between several men outside the apartment complex. The confrontation escalated quickly, culminating in the sound of gunshots.

The EPSO’s Investigations Division launched a follow-up investigation into the shooting and, on May 16, executed several search warrants related to the case.

As a result, three suspects were taken into custody: 38-year-old Nicholas Madrid, 24-year-old Isaiah Marquez-Lobato, and a juvenile male whose identity has not been released due to his age.

Madrid and Marquez-Lobato were booked into the El Paso County Jail, each held on a $200,000 bond. All three individuals are facing charges including attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault.

Authorities emphasized that the investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at (719) 520-7777.
