Multiple Crashes Shut Down Northbound I-25 in Larimer County Due to Icy Conditions

Larimer County, Colo. — A series of crashes early Tuesday morning left northbound I-25 in Larimer County closed for several hours. The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) reported that just before 6 a.m., five separate accidents involving multiple vehicles occurred within a short time frame, causing significant traffic delays.

The incidents included two single-vehicle crashes, two collisions involving two vehicles, and one four-vehicle crash. Authorities said icy road conditions were a contributing factor to the accidents.

Among the crashes, the four-vehicle collision led to two people being hospitalized. According to CSP, one driver exited their vehicle after the crash and was struck, suffering serious bodily injuries. It remains unclear whether the person was hit by another vehicle or debris from the wreck. A second individual, who stayed inside their vehicle, was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the other accidents. CSP has not filed any charges as of Tuesday afternoon, but the investigation into the incidents remains ongoing.

Drivers were urged to remain cautious as icy conditions persist across the region. Authorities advised motorists to slow down and drive with extra care in winter weather.
