Man Arrested in Connection to Deadly Shooting in King Soopers Parking Lot

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred last month in the parking lot of a King Soopers grocery store. The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) announced the arrest of Dustin Boston on February 13. He is facing a first-degree murder charge and has been booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.

The incident took place on January 20 near the King Soopers on Stetson Hills Boulevard. The victim, later identified as 32-year-old Tyray Ikener, was found dead just before 5:00 p.m. following a report of a shooting. The El Paso County Coroner’s Office has not yet released a cause of death, but Ikener’s death is being considered a homicide.

According to CSPD, this case marks the third homicide of the year in Colorado Springs. By contrast, the city had recorded no homicides by this time in 2024. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident, and the department is asking anyone with information to come forward.
