Weld County, Colo. – A man was arrested Saturday following a traffic stop in Keenesburg, after he allegedly provided false personal information to police officers.
According to the Keenesburg Police Department, Hector Jacquez Garcia was pulled over during a routine traffic stop. During the interaction, Garcia reportedly told officers that he did not have any identification with him. When asked for further details, he gave a fake date of birth and last name.
However, further investigation revealed Garcia’s true identity. Authorities discovered that he was wanted by the state of New Mexico, which had issued an arrest warrant for him. In addition to the warrant, police found that Garcia had a revoked driver’s license in both Colorado and New Mexico.
Garcia was taken into custody without incident and was subsequently transported to the Weld County Jail. He now faces multiple charges, including providing false information to law enforcement and driving with a revoked license.
The case remains under investigation as authorities work to address the outstanding warrant and violations.
