Driver Killed in Crash After Losing Control in Old Colorado City

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A driver was killed Monday night after losing control of their vehicle and crashing into a building in Old Colorado City. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), the incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. near the intersection of Uintah Street and 21st Street.

Preliminary reports suggest that the driver may have been speeding as they approached the intersection. The car veered off the road, striking several trees before slamming into a nearby structure. The force of the crash caused the driver to be ejected from the vehicle. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but the driver was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

No other vehicles were involved in the collision, and authorities indicated that there were no passengers in the car at the time of the accident.

CSPD’s Major Crash Team has launched an investigation into the crash to determine the exact circumstances leading up to the incident.
