Colorado Springs Mayor Praises First Responders and Road Crews in Monthly Briefing

Colorado Springs, CO – Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade expressed high praise for the city’s first responders and road crews during his monthly briefing held on Thursday. In the address, the mayor highlighted the tireless work of road crews who have been working around the clock throughout the winter season to ensure city streets remain safe and navigable, despite unpredictable winter storms.

Mayor Mobolade commended the efforts of the road crews, noting their commitment to clearing roads during harsh weather conditions. He acknowledged the significant role they play in keeping the city’s infrastructure functioning smoothly.

In addition to discussing road crews, the mayor also took time to recognize the swift action of first responders, particularly in the aftermath of a fire that broke out just north of Garden of the Gods last week. Mobolade expressed gratitude for the quick response that helped protect the community from further harm.

“I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our region’s first responders for their swift and decisive action in protecting our community,” said Mobolade. “I also want to thank the dozens of residents who called 911 that day. With many red flag days still ahead, this serves as a crucial reminder that if you see smoke or flames, call 911 immediately.”

The mayor also acknowledged the importance of public support in the city’s ongoing infrastructure improvements, particularly thanking residents for voting to retain the 2C tax funding. The tax helps finance the rebuilding and enhancement of the city’s roadways.
