Colorado Springs, CO — On Friday, April 11, Mayor Yemi Mobolade officially certified the results of the City Council election, marking the completion of the voting process. The newly elected members of the City Council will represent various districts across the city, with some familiar faces returning to office and others taking on new leadership roles.

In celebration of the election results, community members are invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony, which will take place on Tuesday, April 15, at the Pioneers Museum South Lawn. As the city prepares for the ceremony, guests are encouraged to use the city’s parking garages, although city officials advise that parking in the area will be limited. Additionally, to accommodate the event, Vermijo Street between Nevada Avenue and Tejon Street will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and drivers are advised to seek alternative routes during this time.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, a Special Meeting of the City Council will be held later in the afternoon at City Hall. During this meeting, the council members will elect a new Council President and President Pro Tem, positions that play a crucial role in the leadership and direction of the council.
