Pueblo Seeks Community Input on Five-Year Plan for Housing and Services

Pueblo, CO – The City of Pueblo is inviting residents to help shape its future by providing feedback on how federal dollars should be allocated for housing, infrastructure, and public services over the next five years. The city will host two town hall meetings this week, providing an opportunity for the public to voice their opinions and participate in the planning process.

The first meeting will take place on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the Downtown Library, while the second is scheduled for Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Barkman Library, located on the northeast side of the city near Jerry Murphy Road and Bonforte Boulevard.

“These dollars are vital in our community,” said Melissa Cook, Interim Housing Administrator for the City of Pueblo. “Not only do they help with the creation of new affordable housing units, but they also support the preservation of existing units and address critical infrastructure needs throughout the city.”

The purpose of the town hall meetings is to gather input on how to best utilize federal funding for various community projects, particularly in the areas of affordable housing development, infrastructure improvements, and the enhancement of public services.

For residents unable to attend in person, the city will provide Zoom links for virtual participation. More information, including the Zoom details, can be found on the City of Pueblo’s official Facebook page.

The upcoming town hall meetings mark the beginning of an essential process to ensure the community’s needs are met and that federal resources are allocated effectively. As the city works toward developing its five-year plan, residents are encouraged to attend and make their voices heard.
